Welcome to the 36th ESVN-ECVN Symposium!
Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the European College of Veterinary Neurology (ECVN), it is our great pleasure to invite you to our 36th ESVN/ECVN Annual Symposium in Porto, which will be held at the Alfandega, on the 13th and 14th of September 2024.
We hope to be able to welcome you to one of the most historic and fascinating cities in Europe, located in the North of Portugal, with an exciting scientific programme and a social programme offering great food and opportunities to catch up with friends.
The main topic of the symposium is Neuro-Ophthalmology. This is a topic that has not been covered before in our community so we have lined up a combination of keynote lectures from veterinary ophthalmologists (Claudia Hartley), diagnostic imagers (Fraser McConnell) and human neuro-ophthalmologists (Dr. João Lemos) to review the latest knowledge on the subject. We have even included a cheeky lecture on Sustainability in Veterinary Practice (Ellie West) to raise awareness of this important concept, often overlooked in our profession.
The Residents’ Day will be held in the same venue as the main Symposium on the 12th (Thursday) and the topic is Anatomy and imaging of the head. All are welcome to join in these useful review sessions lead by Elsa Beltran, Claudia Hartley and Fraser McConnell.
